Discern Adds Senior Staff

Discern has added several key members to its team to expand our staff’s capacity and the areas in which we can help clients succeed in the value-based environment.

Manasi Tirodkar, PhD, joined Discern as a Director in March. She has a strong background in health services research, quality measurement, and practice transformation in primary and specialty care settings. Her experience will be instrumental in assisting Discern’s clients to position for value-based care and payment.
Prior to joining Discern, Manasi was a Lead Research Scientist at the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) for over 10 years. At NCQA, she led measure development projects spanning various disease conditions and populations, including oncology, cardiovascular disease, and geriatrics.

Matthew Castner, MHA is a Director at Discern Health, where he leads health care reform and value-based care projects. He has significant experience in health system operations and strategy, as well as quantitative and qualitative analyses. He has held leadership positions with Johns Hopkins Medicine, working on both the payer and provider side while working toward a PhD.

Jacqlyn Riposo , MBA is a Senior Project Manager at Discern Health. She has over a decade of experience in health care policy with a diverse portfolio of federal agency and non-governmental clients. She leverages her background in quality measures, evidence-based medicine, and project management to help Discern clients and partners achieve their goals.
Prior to joining Discern, Jacqlyn was a Senior Consultant at the Lewin Group, where she developed evidence-based clinical practice guidelines for the Department of Veterans Affairs and Department of Defense, directed systematic evidence reviews, and developed patient/provider education tools. She led the development and ongoing maintenance of Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services clinical quality measures used in outpatient hospital settings.

Genny Bundesen, MSW, LCSW-C, CAPM is Discern’s first HR Director. She provides leadership to ensure that Discern continues to be a rewarding workplace that attracts and retains great talent. Genny’s areas of focus are performance management, workforce planning and recruiting, compensation and benefits, professional development, employee relations, and compliance.
Prior to joining Discern, Genny gained 12 years of HR experience within the professional services field with PricewaterhouseCoopers. She also has experience in clinical social work and program management.
